The Royal Castle of Collioure will adopt the Catalan guide corrected by Sara

A visit to the Royal Castle of Collioure turned into a labour of love: reading the Catalan guide offered to visitors, Sara found spelling, grammar and historical translation errors. So she did what a true corrector does: she researched thoroughly, corrected the text rigorously — helped by one of her university students and by Latin, history and translation professors from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona — and sent it to the monument.

The answer came quickly. Jean-Michel Pous, guide at the heritage department of Pyrénées-Orientales, thanked her in writing for the «remarkable work» and confirmed the document would be «invaluable»: the guide for Catalan visitors will be published with Sara's corrected text.

The dialogue with the castle team also fine-tuned the text's historical accuracy: the passage about 1939 now correctly explains that the fortress served as a disciplinary camp — the «Camp Spécial de Collioure» — for Spanish republican refugees and International Brigade members.

Correcting is not just fixing mistakes: it is making language and history reach the reader properly.
